The film traces the journey of a brilliant, but somewhat lost composition student at an elite university in New York City who, after failing to secure her scholarship, infiltrates an exclusive escort network in the city to finance her future studies. Under pressure to simultaneously write her thesis final composition score, a previously overprotected Malorie dares to explore her new experiences at the margins as the raw material towards her musical creation. Over the course of her journey through the city Malorie learns to overcome powerful personal and societal constraints by challenging received ideas and embracing her last chance at becoming a complex though controversial artist with a voice of her own.
