Writing an effective cover note - You will get the best chance for an audition by writing a short, to the point cover note specific to that job notice, explaining that you think you are perfect for the part, and are available on the casting and shoot dates (if listed). Also, if the casting director has written that you should include certain key information (written in bold red at the bottom of the casting notice) make 100% sure that you list that information requested as you cannot seriously be considered if you do not follow directions. Never copy and paste generic text. Also, never submit to projects if you are not a very close match to the description.
