Julie Jei grew up in Hyogo, Japan. She started classical ballet at age 4 and began performing on the stage. She moved to New York after graduating high school. There she was trained at The Lee Strausburg Institute, The Stella Adler Studio, The School for Film & TV, and by significant teachers such as Larry Silverburg (Author of "The Sanford Meisner Approach"), Patsy Rodenburg (Director of Royal National Theater and author of "The Actor Speaks"), Julia Carey, and others. She also went through intensive martial art training such as Shaolin Kung Fu Empty Hand & Straight Sword styles, Battodo (Samurai Sword techniques), Muay Thai Boxing and others for parts in films .
